iManage Dynamic Foldering

Who can benefit from this feature: iManage Customers

Introduces dynamic foldering support for documents uploaded from Salesforce (Unity PM) to iManage. Documents can now be filed directly into a specified iManage folder at upload time, instead of always defaulting to a single folder.

What’s new

• Extended the existing iManage Upload Invocable Apex action to accept an optional Folder Path parameter
• Enables documents to be uploaded directly into firm-specific folder hierarchies
• Fully backward-compatible — existing uploads without a folder path continue to use the default folder

Folder Path Format

• Folder paths must be provided using / as the separator
• Paths are case-sensitive and must exactly match iManage folder names
• Supported formats:
  • Parent Folder
  • Parent Folder/Sub Folder
  • Parent Folder/Sub Folder/Sub Folder

Limitations & Notes

• Dynamic folder resolution supports up to three (3) nested folder levels
• Deeper folder structures are not recommended to avoid Salesforce governor limit impacts
• If the folder path is missing or cannot be resolved, the upload will fall back to the default folder behaviour

For Administrators:  Go to Setup > Process Automation > Flows For any existing flows (used for uploading documents) that utilise the IManageUploadIC invocable Apex action: Open the action within the flow You will see a new input variable called “IManage Folder Path” Enter the folder path where you want the file to be uploaded by updating the ‘folder’ constant to the same folder name in iManage. (e.g. “PamTest - Doc v4.0” — this should match a folder in iManage). Once configured, documents can be uploaded directly into the specified folder within the iManage workspace hierarchy For users who have never used this feature before, or would like to start using it: Please first set up a flow to handle file uploads Then follow the steps outlined above

Quick Generate Feature (Optional)

Implementation/Configuration required: Permissions Update & Page Layout Update
 
Following the Quick Precedent Generate Feature introduced in Docs v3.29, we have a new checkbox field called Available For Quick Generate on Precedent Templates to indicate if it can be used for Quick Generate.

There is also now a toggle called Enable Quick Generate on the Precedent Selector component.

For Administrators:  To enable this feature, navigate to the Lightning page layout for the Object where you generate your precedents (e.g. Open a the Precedents tab in a Matter then navigate to the Settings Cog > Edit Page). Select the “Precedent Selector” component, then check the “Enable Quick Generate” option to activate the feature. Permissions Update - Customers using custom permission sets will need to update the relevant permission set/s to grant users access to the Available For Quick Generate field. The new field sits under the Precedent Templates Object (How to: Set New Field Permissions on Custom Permission Sets & Assign Permission Sets to Users) Page Layout Update - Customers may need to make the new Available For Quick Generate field visible on their page layouts. You can update this under the Precedent Template Object (How to: Adding New Fields to a Page Layout) OBJECT FIELD ACCESS LEVEL WHERE IS IT USED? Precedent Template Available for Quick Generate Read / Edit To indicate whether or not specific templates can be used with Quick Generate
