Issue
When recording time in Open Practice, one of following errors displays.
- Out of memory
- Component 'DNSTK10.DLL' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file missing or invalid
Which error displays may depend on which program is opened and in use.
Cause
These errors can be caused by dictation software Dragon Natural Speaking which used with the Voice recognition feature.
This may also be caused when the Open Practice DLL files are missing or registered incorrectly on the workstation.
Solution
Solution 1:
If the DNSTK10.DLL file exists in C:\Windows\SysWOW64 then re-register the file manually.
1. Close the Open Practice application.
2. Open Command Prompt as an Administrator.
3. Enter commands to unregister and register the dll:
cd C:\Windows\SysWOW64
regsvr32 /u DNSTK10.DLL
regsvr32 DNSTK10.DLL4. Log into Open Practice and test time recording.
Solution 2:
Re-install the Open Practice runtime components.
1. Close the Open Practice application.
2. Open Command Prompt as an Administrator.
3. Ensure the OP Shared drive is mapped to either O:\, M:\ or the drive letter listed in the OP32.ini configuration file (Progs_Path parameter).
(E.g. net use O: \\SERVER_NAME\SHARED_OP_FOLDER\)
4. Browse to the [OP_Drive]:\OP32\PROGS\ directory
5. Run these three programs in order shown
OPRUN.EXE
OP-DLL.EXE
OPREGUPD.EXENote: The second and third programs run silently (OP-DLL.EXE, OPREGUPD.EXE).
6. Log into Open Practice and test time recording.
Solution 3:
Disable Login options "Use Voice Recognition (If installed)" - this option does not register the file, if the program is present.
1. Log into Open Practice with level 9 administrator level access.
2. Open Person Maintenance
3. Select the effected persons Person Code
4. Select on the left side Preferences > Log In Options > Untick Use Voice Recognition (if installed)
5. Test time recording.
