This article is written with step-by-step Instructions to explain How backdate works for Office Journal Report (LAJCBRPT) program.
NOTE: Please ask an Open Practice Admin user or check if you have access to the instructed programs
WHAT TO LOOK AT
PART A | Required option MUST be Ticked
- Go to Open Practice search bar (top find 🔍 icon)
- Find System Setup (SYCONTRL) program
- Click on Accounts Defaults (left pane)
- Click on Accounts Settings

Check if Transaction calculations, ageing and reporting by Posted Date
and Active Backdated Journals is Ticked ✔ (under General)

NOTE: This section is connected to BAS report and cannot be changed or updated in the middle of Financial Year. If any changes are required, then it only possible at the EOFY (End of Financial Year) Rollover time.
PART B | Conditions need to be considered
CONDITION A
In Office Journal (LADRJRN) program, Tick ✔ Backdated Journal for Reporting option
Where, Entered Date = Current Date

IMPACT: In Office Journal Report (LAJVRPPT) program,
-
When Entered Date is selected > Journal is NOT available for the Back Date/Month

-
When Posted Date is selected > Journal is available for the Back Date/Month

CONDITION B
In Office Journal (LADRJRN) program, Backdated Journal for Reporting option NOT Ticked

Where, Entered Date = Back Date / NOT Current Date

IMPACT: In Office Journal Report (LAJVRPPT) program,

When Entered Date is selected > Journal is available for the Back Date/Month

When Posted Date is selected > Journal is NOT available for the Back Date/Month

NOTE: In Open Practice, majority of the Reports show the Current Date/Month (Set Accounting Date) as Posted Date. Unfortunately, users need to remember to check random boxes each time if require to apply Back Date.
