How do I create a new user in Unity Search?
This article outlines the step-by-step guide on how to create a new user in Unity Search for Account Administrators. You have an option to create a new user by copying an existing user's access level and creating a new user from scratch.
Prerequisite:
- You will require Account Administration access in Unity Search
Creating a New User
Login to Unity Search then hover to My HQ and on the drop-down menu, select Account Administration to proceed.
On the dropdown menu, select Create a new user.
This will route you to the page where you will need to fill out the required fields with the following:
- Identify an existing user you wish to copy a profile from to create a new user
- Key in your password to continue
- Type in the username you wish to copy a profile from
- Click Search User to proceed.
The next page will route you to key in the details for the new user in your organisation.
- Key in your password on this field or if you set your browser to remember your password, this should be automatically pre-filled
- Set the username for the new user. This should be all lowercase, alphanumeric characters
- Set the full name of the new user
- Set the temporary password. This can be updated or changed later
- Set the email address of the new user
- Set the phone or mobile number of the new user
You will be notified (as below) once the user account has been created.
Send the login credentials via email to the new user for them to start logging in to Unity Search.
If your organistaion does not have an Account Administrator, please have an Authorised Person from your organisation contact our team to create a new user on your behalf.
